e-Discussion on Education, 1 February-4 March

Join the online discussion on Education: Closing the Gap which will be held from 1 February to 4 March, organized by the Department for Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the UN Development Group’s MDG-Net forum.

The online discussion will bring together experts, policy-makers and practitioners for a global dialogue on the internationally agreed goals on education. Its aim is to attract multi-stakeholder participation, stimulate constructive debate, collect a diversity of viewpoints and develop a number of concrete recommendations and actions reagrding the following key topics:

1. Quality in education
2. Access to education and learning
3. Innovation in education

An outcome document will be prepared summarizing the ideas and action agenda produced by the e-discussion, which will be presented at the Global Preparatory Meeting (April 2011) and ECOSOC’s Substantive Session in Geneva (July 2011).
